The ASID MN Annual Fall Social was held Tuesday, September 24th, at the Museum of Russian Art in South Minneapolis. This was a SOLD OUT event!

The afternoon started off with a docent tour of the gallery show Village Wardrobes – Traditional Dress from Western and Central Ukraine. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. All attendees were able to get up close and personal with the private collection of traditional folk clothing from 10 different regions from the late 19th to the mid-20th centuries.  The intricate handiwork and time spent on each piece was evident as designers and IP members marveled at the bead work, hand stitching, and layers of hand dyed fabric on the pieces of work.

After the tour, happy hour and mingling took place in the main level and mezzanine level galleries. A wide array of tasty appetizers, decadent desserts, and wines were available and enjoyed by all. Networking among the art was an ideal space for this crowd!

Susan & Jeff Thayer and Lisa Ball spoke briefly about the chapter’s community service project this year, as well as a couple words from the event sponsors, Express Window Fashions and Habitation.

This was a very successful fall social event! It was a great way to kick off the new season as we work our way toward the ASID Awards Gala and holiday parties later on this year.
