Project Statement

This Master Suite was designed for a woman with a beautiful sense of style. She asked us to design a quiet haven where she can start and end her days with serenity. While she favors a monochromatic color scheme, our challenge was to deliver a room with a neutral palette but – “keep it from being boring.” We began by selecting carpet, bedding and paint in various shades and textures of ivory to create a warm and inviting space. Espresso stained case goods anchor the room while shades of lilac and accents of silver and gold add a touch of sophisticated sparkle. The real statement of the room is the painting on canvas – a woman in a black dress with pop-art flowers exploding around her. The art adds drama to the room, and while modern, feels chicly Coco Chanel. The Master Suite is a part of a larger condominium, and while our client is its first resident, the shell of the space was already built. Our challenge was to be sure every space functioned as smartly as possible for the client. For example, the Master Bath didn’t have a makeup vanity – an absolute must for our client. Our team shortened the length of the shower and designed a makeup vanity where the client could sit comfortably. The gold and crystal sconces at the vanity are like jewelry for the walls, creating great light and Old Hollywood glamour. We also designed a luxury walk-in closet that’s as functional as it is beautiful. Floor-to-ceiling built-ins showcase her dresses, purses and fabulous shoe collection. The hanging rods light up to make getting dressed a breeze. In the end, we created the haven our client was looking for-neutral, but not boring, stylish, and sophisticated: classic, but modern.
