Project Statement

Although our client was the first inhabitant, the shell of this 3,563 square-foot condominium already existed when our team was brought into this project. The client requested a neutral palette to draw attention to millwork and finishes. We selected rich cream tones and soft greys to define the home, while the high-gloss painted doors serve as an important contrast throughout the condo to anchor the space. We gave the home dimension by designing the millwork and finishes. It was no easy feat to work around the existing vents and electrical set up, but we were able to give the client a beautiful coffered ceiling, beams in the kitchen, and wainscot and paneling throughout the home. We chose a soft ivory paint for the cabinets and trim, and a slightly deeper shade for the walls to further enhance the millwork. Warm, gilded accents stand out against a creamy backdrop. We found unique hardware for the cabinets that brighten up the space. We focused on giving the client unique and beautiful light fixtures – crystal and gold chandeliers and sconces that bring a soft glow throughout the home. The neutral backdrop provided a blank canvas for us to showcase the client’s eclectic art collection. She adores the black and white art piece we placed in the Living Room, and the gold frame against the otherwise ivory palette gives the piece a permanent place to sing. The tangerine and aqua of the painting in the Dining Room add a fresh pop of color. We chose gorgeous marble with unique geometric patterns for the backsplash and flooring, focusing on the texture to add interest. The quartz countertops on the Kitchen perimeter and island mimic the marble backsplash but can withstand even red wine spills with no worry of stains. The custom floating buffet we designed holds the clients’ china, and the quartzite countertop above looks stunning while remaining durable for any buffet spread. We added French antique mirror as a finishing touch and backdrop to this focal point. The result is a classic, elegant space that’s as functional as it is beautiful.
